Greek is highly interesting for the history of European integration and the cultural tradition of entire Europe: its first attested written idioms was the Minonian alphabet called "Linear A" used in Creete island around 2000 BC developed from the Phoenician language, followed by the renowed "Linear B" alphabet used by the Myceanians tribe who centuries after influenced all the Greeks people, who spoke their own local dialet. When Alexander "the great" united all of them and started the ephic conquest of the Persian Empire, he founded a new language called Koyne (Κοινή) that became the official language of all Greeks and Macedonians until 330 AD. When it was substituited by the Medieval Greek under the Byzantine Empire, mixed with the Latin alphabet and became basic for the Coptic, the Glagolitic, the Cyrillic and the Runic alphabets, spreaded in south-east Europe, in south Italy and Anatolia. When in 1453 AD Constantinople was conquered by the Turks, the ancient Greek remained in use among common people to be restored as official language of the indipendent Kingdom of Greece in 1830 AD.
