Italics people

The international name for Italics people is a latin term indicating the ancient european people living in the Italian peninsula since the Neolithic age and probably still spreaded in the southern regions and islands of Italy. They become official in I century AD when Augustus defined the regios of Italiae Province giving them the names of the local tribes. Who were the italic people in the appennine mountains? They were the Umbri, Osci and Picentes on the Adriatic Sea; the Latins and Sabines in central area; the Samnites, Bruttians and Lucanians in the southern part of continental country; the Sicels in Sicily isle. The other coeval people were of different ethnic groups and spoke languages not common with Latin, Oscian and Umbrian.

Pre roman italy peoples were in great part a mediterranean phehotype of brown or dark haired with large percentage of brown eyes, tipically of the Caucasian anthropologic human group, self-identifying with the history of Roman Respublic since III century BC by forming an indistincted cultural and ethnic group called "Romans" when the Roman Empire was founded and spreaded all around Europe, inherited by the Byzantine Empire tradition from the V century AD. Italics shared the "Antigua Mater" civilty and developed later the "cardium pottery" culture, similar to the "old Europe" danubian-greek/balkanic ones still existing with the coeval Bronze Age mediterranean peoples,. Especially when they got down from the Appenine's settlements to populate the coasts along the southern Tyrrenic Sea and Ionian Sea or the internal countryside, where they could develop their original agricultural style and production together with sheep and goats breeding.

Italics built some important cities before the conquer of the Romans (became aeternitas of the history of european integration), such as: Ortygia and Pantalica in Sicily; Assisi Foligno Narni and Spoleto in Umbria; Norcia Rieti Ascoli Isernia and Benevento in central Italy; even Matera and Cosenza in southern lands. Some of the cities founded by ancient Italics were related to mythologic greeks Olympians Gods, evidently inherited through tradings and the colonies of Magna Greacia (together with lots of food products and semenze, architectural styles and building, cultural basis): in particular is notable the Latins origin myth from the descendants of Mercury god as part of the ethnic group called "Albi gens" together with Dorians, Macedonians and Epirotes that had a wade influnce on the ancient history of Italy (see the Greeks people).

During the Roman Empire age, Italics were protagonists of colonization of great part of Europe where founded several civitas still existing and became fundamental for the whole history of european integration, so that the Italics universe could include the Mediterranean Sea area, the Illyrian and Balkanic regions, Alpines and Western side of the continent included Britain and will be fundamental for the future of Europe. Among the most famous Italics peoples there have been the ancient gens of Rome who became some of the imperial families and the following european genealogies or Papaline families of the Roman Church. In XX century AD, several millions of Italians migrated abroad towards USA, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Australia, France, Belgium and Switzerland, while the Latin language was the basis for the modern European languages called "romances" spoken in Western side and in Romania.
