Russians people

The international name for Russians people is the slavic term Rus' (or Rhōs) probably related to their rowing ability or the colour of their beard and hairs, intending the Scandinavians that starting from the VIII centurty AD voyaged along the northern rivers of Russia and the great southern rivers flowing into the Black Sea, where they built great emporiums in Kiev, Novgorod, Polotsk, Chernigov, Pskov, Jaroslav, Perejaslav, Smolensk, Suzdal and Tver: those became the first russian cities and principades that had a great importance in the whole history of european integration and in Russian political system.

What is the main ethniciy of Russian people? Genetic studies show that Russians are closely related to Poles, Belarusians and Ukrainians, as well as Estonians, Latvians and Lithuanians, then they are a mix of East Slavs tribes and Balts but their cultural ancestry is based in Kievan Rus', that was founded by groups of Vikings who unified the territory of the Russians and the national Russian language (a spoken Slavic language) within the Orthodox Christianity in early the Middle Age. The Russians english word have two transaltions in russian culture: русские (russkiye), which in modern Russia means "ethnic Russians"; россияне (rossiyane), which denotes "people of Russia", regardless of ethnicity or religious affiliation. The second term exlpain the idea of a single "all-Russian nation" encompassing the East Slavic peoples, or a "triune nation" of three brotherly "Great Russian", "Little Russian" (i.e. Ukrainian), and "White Russian" (i.e. Belarusian) peoples became the official doctrine of the Russian Empire from the beginning of the XIX century AD.

At that time Russia could reach the Pacific Ocean coast up to the Altaj mountains and the Persia edge, exanded over the Caspian Sea until the Caucaus chain, the Black Sea and Eastern Europe area, including numerous peoples of every origin and ethnic group that had been "russified" and occupied by minorities of Russians coming from the native "european" Russia (western to the Urals mountains). Something similar happened to the european countries of Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Finland, Moldova and in general all the modern states under the Sovietic regime during XX century AD, so that there are large minorities of Russians in all of them, while a large Russian diaspora for political reason, estimated at 25 million people, has developed all over the world in particular in Germany, United States, Brazil and Canada.

In the ancient past, there have been many settlements in history of Russia: the one of the "Comb ceramic pottery" in late Neolithic age in the northern part of the country, shared with Siberians and Ugric peoples living from Finland and Finnish area up to the Siberia plain and Arctic Circle region; some time after the "Yamnaya culture" spreaded over centre-southern Russia in the Bronze Age, followed by the "Globular amphora culture" extended all over the Russian-Sarmatic plain and the "Cucuteni culture" in Scythya area, the homeland of the Slavs and Celts. That's the reason why the Ethnic Russians historically coexist with a number of ethnographic groups such as: the Finns in northern; the Cossacks, the Goryuns and the Kamchadals in southern; the Polekhs, the Pomors, the Siberians (Siberiaks), Starozhily and some groupings of Old Believers (Kamenschiks, Lipovans, Semeiskie) in asian area. The East Slavs gradually settled Western Russia probably buildind Moscow, Minsk and Kharkiv around VII century AD but before the Suzdal-Murom and Novgorod-Rostov areas were populated by Finnic peoples, including the Merya, the Muromians and the Meshchera. Then it is evident that Russians are a group of european peoples part of the history of european integration since ever, as well as they belong to the Slavic cluster that traditionally includes Western and Southern peoples of Europe sharing genetic similarity and origin place.

Among the famous Russians people are enlisted the members of the Rurikid dinasty (related to the Vikings royal families), that ruled Russian Principades for centuries and were joined to the other european genealogies, before to leave the sceptre to the Romanov dinasty probably of Baltic origin, and several writers, artists, scientists and sportsmen of the modern age. Even if today a war is dividing Europeans from Russians, reviving many ghosts of the history of european integration, it is undoubitable that Russians will be part of the future of Europe
