Andorra is an aeternitas of the history of european integration that will have influence on the future of Europe. The name given by the inhabitants is PRINCIPAT DE ANDORRA with the official national languages of Spanish and Catalan (belonging to he group of Italic family) spoken by the citizens who today live in the Principality with premiership of Andorra, together with the residents of others European peoples speaking French.

Andorra is situated in southern Europe in the eastern side of the Pirenees around the peak of Coma Pedrosa mount and in the middle of the valley of Valira river, a tributary of the Ebro complex that erupts into the Atlantic Ocean, along the border between France (on the North) and Spain (on the South). Its territory is totally hilly covered of forests of evergreens trees and alpine grasslands, that characterized the climate of plentiful snowings in Winter and fresh sunny Summer days, eventhough Andorra is not far from the Mediteranean Sea coasts.

The history of Andorra started with the first settlements of Megalithics people (as you can read in this article) who had been followed along the ancient times by the Iberians people and the Galli tribe of Celts. They had been submitted by Carthago as a colonia around III century BC, until the "Second Punic War" when Andorra was conquested by Romans. Within the reform of Augustus (see Roman Empire), Andorra was included into the Tarraconensis province that with the reform of Constantine I (see Christian Empire) became part of the Hispania diocesi. At the falling of Western Roman Empire, Andorra was invaded by the Westgoths and annexed to the Regna Visogotorum from 415 AD, ruled by Balti, Tervingi and other dinasties.

In 778 AD Franks annexed Andorra to the Regna Francorum and with the renovatio imperii reform of Charlemagne entered the Carolingian Empire, as part of the Mark of Andorra-Hispania within the County of Barcelona ruled until 834 AD by the Gellone dinasty when they were defeated and lost their fief for the Bellonidi dinasty, who founded the County of Urgel ruled by the Bellonidi-Urgel and the Cabrera families until 1314 AD. In the meantime, the Church of Rome intervened in a quarrel between the Regna Aragona and the Kingdom of France and assigned to Andorra the status of paritages still in force nowadays!

Since then the "paritages de Andorra" had been administered by the Bishop of Urgel together with the several European genralogies possessing the fief, from the Foix ruling the County of Toulouse until 1479 AD, when Andorra passed under control of the Regna Navarra ruled by the d'Albret dinasty who became royal family of France in 1572 AD and annexed the fief. So Andorra had been administered by the Borbone dinasty kings until 1848 AD, when France became republic and the rule passed to the elected president. Nowadays which state Andorra is part of? In the end, it obtained the political independence in 1993 AD with the "Constitution de Principade" and poned its capital in the town of La Vella, became famous as an international skying resort. But its history is conserved into the Andorra flag: the shield contains a bishoprich tiara mixed to the coats of arm of the Foix Counties dinasty. Andorra state is not a member of the European Union, perhaps it is admitted to the E.E.C. and adopted the Euro coin.
