Albania is an aeternitas of the history of european integration that will have influence on the future of Europe. The name given by the inhabitants is REPUBLIKA E SHGIGЁRISЁ with the official national language of Albanian spoken by the Albanians people who today live in the parliamentary Republic of Albania, together with the minorities of others European peoples speaking Greek.
Albania is situated in southern Europe in the western side of the Balkans: it overlook westward on the Ionian and Adriatic seas and borders to the north-west with Montenegro and to the north-east with Serbia, to east with Macedonia and on south-east with Greece. Its territory is mostly hilly along the Dinari Albanian Alps while the north-western coast is low-lying and in great part bogging, so that the climate changes from the mediterranean type on the coasts to the continental character by running towards the internal and the mountains. From where came the longest rich of water and twisty river courses of the Black Drin, effluent or the Ocrida Lake divided with North Macedonia, and of the Semeni, the Shkumbin and the Voiussa Scutari, all erupting into the Otranto Channel that separates Albania from Italy for less than 50 kilometers.
The history of Albania started with the first settlements of Illyirians (as you can read in this article) who had been followed along the ancient times by the Albi Gens and the Ghegs tribes. They formed the Kingdom of Epirus under the Molossi/Eacidi dinasty descending from the hero Achille and his son Neottolemo joined to a Troyan royal woman: it signed the history of european integration when King Pirro moved war trying to conquest Italy in III century BC, but Epirus was already famous within the Greek civilty for the Dodona Temple of Zeus where served as priest IO, the mother of Ephapus (check this article), and Olympiade mother of Alexander "the great". Who annexed Epirus to the Macedonian Kingdom ruled by the Argeadi dinasty and the following Diadochi Kingdom of Macedonia until the I century BC when Romans conquered the whole Greece.
Within the reform of Augustus (see Roman Empire), Albania was included into the Epirus province that with the reform of Constantine I (see Christian Empire) became part of the Macedonia diocesi. At the falling of Western Roman Empire, Albania remained within the Byzantine Empire posessions, inserted into the Dyrrachium theme as part of the Moesia diocesi until it was conquered by Bulgars in VII century AD and annexed to the Bulgarians Empire under Kzar Simeon I until 1018 AD.
Once reconquested by the Byzantine Empire, in 1199 AD it was instituted the Principality of Albania and assigned to the Progon dinasty, that became Kingdom of Albania in 1272 AD ruled by the Angioini and inherited by the cadet-branch of Angioini-Taranto who established in 1332 the Ducky of Durres, successively oened by the other cadet-branch of Angioini-Durazzo until 1368 AD, when Giorgio "Skanderbeg" hero of Albania conquested the fief and formed the New Principade of Albania under the albanian Kastriota dinasty.
Albania remained almost independent until the conquest of Turks in 1478 AD, annexed to the Sultanat until was included into the new Kingdom of Serbia at the end of the "Balkan's war" in 1878 AD. The definitive independence of Albanians people came in 1914 AD under King Wilhelm Wied, who proclamed the I Repubblic in 1924 AD and restored the Kingdom of Albania in 1928 AD, ruled by King Zog who escaped when Italy troops occupied the country during the Second World War: after that, it was established the II Republic in 1944 AD still in force nowadyas with capital in Tirana and fragmented in 5 regions (Scutari, Tirana-Durres, Elbasani-Berati, Valona, Coriza), whose most important cities are Durres, Scutari and Valona. Is Albania part of the European Union? Not at this time but the request of admission has been approved in 2014 AD then Albania is a "candidate state".
