800

800 A.D. is one of the most important date in the whole history of european integration and will probably have influence on the future of United europe, because it signs the birth of the Carolingian Empire and as new chapter of the process of european integration that pursued nowadays with the European Union founding treaties.

But what happened in 800 A.D.? The most important event in that year had been the crowning of Charlemagne in the night of the 25th december in the basilica of Saint Peter in Rome, as new roman christian emperor for Western Europe after the falling of the Roman Empire: to be precise, that rite sanctioned the renew (renovatio imperii) of the Christian Empire founded by Constantine I and continued for centuries throught the Byzantine Empire, by recovering the proto-feudal model of double pyramids of powers within the Ecclesiae Christiana.

What had been the meaning of 800 A.D.? The title assumed by Charlemagne was imperator christianorum because the leadership in the Christianity community had been conserved by the Basileus Romaioi ruling in Constantinople and recognized since 476 A.D. by all the european christian kings included the new frankish royal dinasty of Carolingians. Perhaps, the crowning rite followed the ancient traditions for roman emperors (ordines coronationes) passing throught the people acclamation of the king and his curtsy to the Pope, who anointed and crowned him in front of the Patricious of Senate, a formal coded ritual repeated until 1806 A.D.! That was the moment of recovering the ancient empire in Pars Occidens, favoured by the elevation of the king's family as Patricious, so that they could form a Familia Christiana of the Germans feudal european genealogies to combine the ancient aristocratic class of ecclesiastic and landlords forming the Pope families.

With the carolngian empire founded in 800 A.D. the restored Auctoritas imperatoris in Pars Occidens was based on the political-military power of feudal-privatistic nature, sacralized by the Roman catholic church in accordance with God goodwil guaranteed by the Pope (gratia dei), a power model completelty different from the divine originary legitimation of the caesaristic absolute power of the basileius in Oriensis that fully inherited the most ancient tradition and effectivity model reformed in 27 B.C.. Eventhough, when Charlemagne inteviened to solve an internat dispute of the Roman church, he used the power of Pontifex Maximus established in the first Nicean council and belonging since then to the byzantine emperors: he embraced totally the apostolic line of Saint Peter christianization that recognised his followers (the episcupus of Rome) in superior position within Christianity, in opposition to the iconoclastic position supported by the Greek ortodox church since ever! For that reason, Charlemagne assumed also the role of defensor fidei in Occidens and the mission to evangelized all european peoples.

But 800 A.D. means also the beginning of the underground conflict endured until the fall of Constantinople between the clan of the Popes families and their allies (Guelphs party) against the emperors order of the royal and feudal european genealogies! The clerical class organized its power along with the Patrimonium Petri estate, accorded by the same Carolongians, and the following Adelskirche system, based on the newtwork of archibishoprics founded by the christian emperors quite in every european states gradually annexed to the Reich Empire enlarging towards East and North. The christian empire renowed in 800 A.D. was organized around the palatine/comitatensis servers (formed in the imperial Scholae insituted by Charlemagne in Aachen), the governance system of local lords and the jurisdictional regime, based on loyalty, christan values, chevalry ethic and the patrimonial status of the kingdom. In that period began the expulsions of the Jewish from France towards Renania, while in England Egberth was elected king of Wessex as first of the homonimous dinasty who will rule until 1066 A.D., having a decisive influence on the history of european integration! After a long exile at the court of Charlemagne where married a frankish princess, Egberth returned and started a long fight that trasformed his reign in hegemonic on the Eptarchy system until in 825 A.D., when he finally could unify all the saxons regnas (included Cornwall and Brittany) and pone the basis for the birth of England kingdom.
